EMILY YUILL Mrs. Emily Yuill, pioneer resident of Alcona County, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Sarah Witter, in Alpena, on Monday, July 22. Mrs. Yuill had been confined to her bed for the past six weeks. Miss Emily MacNeil was born in Canada, in 1857, and came to Alcona County in the year 1870. She married the late Joseph Yuill in Alcona County. Mrs. Yuill taught school in Detroit, and in the rural area of the county for a number of years. She was an active member of the local Presbyterian Church for many years, and was a member of Lake Huron Chapter, O. E. S. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Witters of Alpena, Mrs. W. S. Woolever, of Lansing; and one brother, Donald MacNeil of Haynes. The body was brought to her home in Harrisville, and funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Wm. Vincent officiated. Burial was made in the Mt. Joy Cemetery.
