Transcription : ELLA TEEPLE, 93, SUCCUMBS: LEAVES 62 DESCENDENTS Mrs. Ella Teeple, 93, passed away June 29 at the Lansing home of her daughter, Mrs. Sue Snyder, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Teeple, who came to Alcona County at the age of 16, had lived in Haynes Township and Harrisville until about 15 years ago when she went to live with her children. She was a member of Haynes Presbyterian church. Born September 1, 1863, in Macomb County, she was married at the age of 16 to Mr. Johnston and came to Alcona County. Her husband expired and she later was married to Fred Teeple of Haynes Township who also preceded her in death. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Charles Newhouse of Harrisville, Mrs. Sue Snyder of Lansing, Mrs. Belle Boshow of Dowagiac, Mrs. Pat McGirly of Flint, and Mrs. Cora Jones of Houston, Tex.; two sons Charles Johnston and Percy Johnston, both of Alpena; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Funeral rites were conducted July 1 from the Haynes Presbyterian church under the direction of Rev. Robert V. Woods and interment in Mt. Joy Cemetery. Pallbearers were Percy Somers, Noble Ferguson, Harvey Elmer, Sidney Dekett, Sandy Campbell and Walter Campbell.” ACR [Note: A second obituary, giving much the same information, appeared on another page of the newspaper.]
