Transcription : The all absorbing topic of political conversation in Alcona is the township ticket, and which one of the three tickets that are in the field to vote for is agitating the peoples' mind. There are three candidates for supervisor--Joseph Yuill, who is the caucus nominee; Jas. Fleming, who has just served a term with credit to the township, and John McGuire. There are two candidates for clerk--M. C. McFadyen and D. J. McArthur. F. J. Hill, of Black River, is unopposed for the office of township treasurer.
