Description : Report from probate court judge Geo. S. Ritchie on the institutionalization of Duncan McArthur.
Transcription : To the Honourable Board of Supervisors of Alcona County: Gentlemen:--In accordance with the law of 1885 which requires the Judge of Probate to report the result of proceedings in the case of an insane person: In the matter of Duncan McArthur, an indigent insane person: The above case was tried on the 30th day of November, 1889 and said McArthur was found insane and in indigent circumstances and an order was issued admitting him to the Traverse City asylum for the insane, to be supported at the expense of the County. Said McArthur was taken to above asylum by John Y. McDonald, Sheriff of Alcona County, and was receipted for, which receipt is now on file in my office. Yours respectfully, Geo. S.
