      Military Service: August 22, 1862: Enlisted in Co. E. 4th Murray's Cavalry at Dixon Spring by Whorton March-April 1863: Under arrest while serving in Co. K. 22nd Murray's TN Inf Battalion In Joseph Gipson's Pension, Isaac Gibson witnessed the pension on Dec 11, 1891. J. R. Spurlock was in the same military unit. Joseph said that he was imprisoned in Fort Delaware. Joseph was living in Granville, Jackson County, TN. Joseph Gipson was captured Feb 8, 1864 in Jackson County, TN. He was paroled at Ft. Delaware on Feb 27, 1865. He was then forwarded to City Point, VA for exchange
