      Obit: Wm. J. Steele Dead
      Wm. J. Steele, who had been confined to his home for the past two weeks, grew rapidly worse Monday night and despite the efforts of the physicians in charge, continued to sink rapidly, passing away at 5 o'clock Tuesday evening.
      Wm. J. Steele was born at Janesville, Wis., Nov. 30, 1857, coming with his parents to Taylor County in 1861, where he has since resided. In 1890 he was married to Miss Celia McKee, and from this union two children were born, Celia, who died in infancy, and Gwendolyn, who survives him. In 1906 deceased was married to Mrs. Emma [Johnson] Templeton, who survives him, besides a brother, Charles W. Steele, and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Baker and Mrs. J. [ohn] J. Clark. Funeral services were held at the home this afternoon, conducted by Rev. Wm. B. Thompson and Rev. J. A. Currie. Interment was in the Bedford Cemetery. (Bedford IA Free Press, 17 Oct 1912)
