  • Notes
    • William Duane would pick u pcalves in a township away from home and rent pasture in Harrisville Twp to get into the cattle business.

He was apprehended and was in Circuit Court, Alcona Co, Mich for larceny: In Caledonia Township, Edward Dahm - 3 calves - pay restitution of $160.00 - fine of $50.00 - costs of $50.00 - probation for one year. Jne 27, 1961

Again - Alfred Kamnowski , Alcona Township - one calf - two years probation - $50.00 costs - 60 days in jail - Psychiatric examination.

Again on Dec 12, 1963 a petition and order of Probation was discharged. Bill got in trouble again.
A group of nice Black Angus broke into a neighbor's field. They were strange cattle to the community, so the sheriff investigated and foundthey came from Lapeer County.
After the probation was discharged in the County, Bill and the Angus cattle went to Lapeer County Court. What happened there is not known.

Note: The County clerk and the Sheriff think Bill has straightened out.

After the barn fire and the death of his mother, Bill was depressed and said he wanted to go and join his mother.
William Duane Fettes was found dead in the cab of his pickup truck on a rural road in Haynes Sat. Dec 18, 1971. Cause of death was ruled as self-indiced carbon monoxide poisoning.
