  • Notes
    • # Bill joined the Navy under V12, attended Miami College in Ohio. After VE Day, he got a leave of absence to go t othe University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and finish his course, and also intern at a hospital. He interned at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Then the Navy sent him to New Orleans as a recruiter. Then he was sent as an MD on a fast hospital ship to Korea, to evacuate the wounded to Honolulu. That fast ship, incidently, his brother Jerry helped make at the Dafoe Boat Works of Bay Sity, MI.

After Bill's service in the Navy, he settled in North Vernon, IN. He built a Medical Center and procured three physicians, an X-ray Technician, three nurses, and had a couple of rooms for emergency.
