  James Hiram Stricklin and his wife Nancy were the first to be buried in the Lutts Cemetery, which was part of their farm. They also have a baby buried their. He was a County Commissioner for 20 years, and at one time, a Justice of the Peace. Both were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. James Hiram was thought to have avoided conscription during the Civil War by hiding out.
