John Slawson married (1) Sarah Tuttle, baptised April 1642 (at New Haven, Connecticut), daughter of William and Elizabeth Tuttle. She was murdered with an axe by her brother, Benjamin Tuttle, who was duly hanged for the crime in 1677.
