In the late 1840's (around 1850) Artemus Bise built a large grist and lumb ermill on the AuSable River (Lot 2, Consession 2), southwest of Flanagan 's Corners. - from "McGillivray Township Remembers, 1842-1992," pgs 5 9, 94 & 95.
Bice's lumbermill provided two loads of three-inch planking for the Mort on Bridge costruction in November 1871. - from "McGillivray Township Remem bers, 1842-1992," pgs 110, 314.
