    Stephen enlisted 23 Nov 1775 for the duration of the war and served in the 2nd Regt from Sussex Co. as a Pvt. in Capt. Maxwell's and Capt. Scott's Companies. He was approved for $8.00 per month to begin 22 July 1818. Stephen was age 65 when he made the application. Judith, his widow, was approved to receive $80 a year to begin 4 Mar 1848 (Application #8516) after Stephen died. She also received 100 acres of bounty land in Wood Co., Ohio on 6 Apr 1853 (Warrant #8516).
