Samuel Henderson Stricklin, during the Civil War, was a
Sergeant for Company B of the 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry. A Pastor
for the Methodist Episcopal Church, he was the first preacher at
Shawnetee, Tennessee. Additionally, Samuel was the first Poastmaster at
Cyclone (on Little Shawnettee Creek north of the location of the
Shawnette Methodist Church), from December 31, 1898 until August 12,
1903.
Samuel married Sarah E.J Brewer on 08 Jan 1862. Sarah was born on 22 Oct 1847 in Wayne County, Tennessee; died on 30 Mar 1926; was buried in Mcglamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
