  1. 1.  Ephraim Thompson was born about 1805 in Kentucky (son of Joseph Thompson and Zilphy Adams); and died.

    Notes:

On the death certificate of James M. Thompson it had his parents as
Ephram and Elizabeth Thompson. It stated both were born in Kentucky.

In a book called Thompson and Yates Kentucky Marriages that I rented
from the Genealogical Center Library has an Ephriam Thompson Marrying an
Elizabeth Deboad in Pulaski County on December 9, 1829. Not positive but
looks good and sounds good. I think I'll run with it and see where it
    takes me.

On January 28, 1997 at the LDS off of 63rd and Grove in OKC, they had a
    (microfilm # 08004052) Pulaski County, Kentucky vol. I 1799 - 1863
    marriage bonds.
I found the marriage record of Ephraim Thompson and Elizabeth Deboad. It
said Joint Consent of William Deboad and Joseph Thompson, (kinship not
stated) Name under Sureties Jeremeah Cash. I think it would be a good
guess that Joseph Thompson is the father of Ephraim Thompson and William
Deboad is Elizabeth's father. It showed Joseph being married 1800. this
would make him a good age to be the father of Ephraim. The rest of the
marriages had the consent of father or mother on them. I also met a
person on the internet that seemed to be related. This was his massage:

I don't have my folder with me on the Thompson. Its in
storage. However, I am aware of him. Myself, I am descended from Eleanor
Thompson who married Martin VanHook. At one time or another they lived
in Rockcastle and Pulaski County. They went Church at Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church of Christ as did the Thompsons. It was founded in 1804.
The Thompsons and Vanhooks lived right near the County line and the
Church grunds are still in both counties.
Eleanor was the daughter of Joseph Thompson and Nancy Charlton.
Andrew Thompson was his father and they were from Montgomery Co, Va.
Ephraim and Joesph were related and both went to Mt Pleasant, but I
don't know how they were related.

Could Nancy J. be Janie the mother on the death certificate of Russell
Thompson? I think I'll go with it. It probably was Nancy Jane and
everyone called her Janie for short. This would look like that John
Thompson named his daughter after his stepmother.
