About the will of Daniel Sherwood: "Receipt is given March 11, 1784, to Albert and Daniel Sherwood, Executors of our father Daniel, by Ebenezer and Martha Perry, Couch and Naomi Edwards, Seth and Ann Murwin, Sarah Sherwood, and Esther Sanford."

Daniel married Martha Hull about 1727. Martha (daughter of Cornelius Hull and Sarah Sanford) was born on 15 Jun 1701 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; died on 19 Sep 1782 in Redding, Fairfield County, Connecticut. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

2. Ann Sherwood was born on 18 Feb 1730 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and died.
3. Naomi Sherwood was born on 31 Dec 1731 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and died.
4. Esther Sherwood was born on 02 Mar 1744/45 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; died on 10 Mar 1826 in Redding, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
5. Sarah Sherwood was born on 26 Jan 1738 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and died.
6. Martha Sherwood was born on 09 Mar 1740 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and died.
7. Samuel Sherwood was born on 23 May 1742 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and died.
8. Albert Sherwood was born on 18 Nov 1733 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and died.
9. Daniel Sherwood was born on 20 Nov 1735 in Greenfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and died.

Notes:

Samuel Sherwood's will was dated March 15, 1724/5 and was proved June 22, 1725. It includes daughters Ann, Sarah, Abigail; Lydia daughter of my daughter Sarah Hull; sons Daniel and Samuel.

He renewed the Convenant at Fairfield Church on March 29, 1696.

Notes:

His son Thomas had received his "portion" and given a discharge for it, but on 9 Nov. 1681 Thomas, Sr., discharged him from his discharge.

[His estate was] Inv. 12 Mar. 1698/9. Adm'n granted to Benjamin and Samuel Sherwood.

Agreement 14 Mar. 1700 between Benjamin, Samuel, and Isaac Sherwood, sons of Thomas dec'd; Benjamin was to pay certain amounts to his sister Phebe Sherwood and to John Bradley towards his wife Hannah's portion. On 11 Mar. 1728/9, Isaac Sherwood of Norwalk, Abigail Ogden, John Bradley, Sr., Joseph Banks, and Benjamin Sherwood, Jr., of Fairfield, quitclaimed to Banjamin Sherwood, Sr., Samuel Sherwood, and Daniel Sherwood, their interest in the Est. of Thomas Sherwood.

Thomas married Ann Turney before 1659. Ann (daughter of Benjamin Turney and Mary Odell) was born on 08 Jan 1636 in Hollingdon Soulbury, Buckinghamshire, England; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Thomas married Sarah Wheeler in 1650 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Sarah (daughter of Thomas Wheeler and Ann Halsey) was christened on 10 Aug 1628 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England; died in 1658 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Benjamin Turney had settled in Concord, Massachusetts, by 1639, and was made freeman in June, 1641. He moved (it can be supposed) in September, 1644, with Rev. Mr. Jones, the Wheelers, and others to Fairfield, Connecticut.

His estate was inventoried on June 6, 1648, and presented by Mary Turney on November 10, 1648. The ages of his children were given in his will as: Mary 17, Robert 15, Judith 13, Ann 11, Rebecca 8, Sarah 6, Ruth 4, and Benjamin 3. Receipts were given to Joseph Middlebrook in 1661 by Nathaniel Seeley in behalf of his wife and for use of sister Sarah; John Wheeler in behalf of his wife and for the us of sister Ruth and brother Benjamin Turney and sister Rebecca; and Stephen Sherwood who married the said Rebecca acknowledged receipt of her portion; also Thomas Sherwood receipted to Middlebrook for his wife's portion. John Wheeler by 1673 purchased from Stephen and Matthew Sherwood all their interest in right of their wives, the daughters of Benjamin Turney, deceased.

He settled in Concord, Massachusetts by 1639, and was made freeman, June 1641. He removed, possibly in September 1644 with the Reverend Jones, the Wheelers, and others, to Fairfield. Here he died in 1648. It may be assumed be assumed that he or his wife was closely related to Ann wife of Thomas Wheeler Sr, for in her will of 1659, which was witnessed by Robert Turney, Mrs Wheeler gave her best hat to Rebecca Turney.
