Nathaniel Burr s of Jehue 1 was made a freeman in 1664 & first m Sarah d of Andrew Ward by whom he had Sarah & Nathaniel He pur 12 Feb 1659 the home lot house &c on the Ludlow Square of Richard Lyon bounded ne by his brother Daniel Burr who on the 15 March i668 pur Andrew Ward's house & home lot bounded ne by Major Nathan Gold s homestead This place on the Ludlow Square remained in the Burr family until after the Revolution His second wife was Ann d of Dr James Laborie He died 22 Feb 1712 His will is dated 22 Nov 171 1 in which he mentions wife Ann ss John & Daniel ds Abigail wife of John Wheeler m 22 March 1693 Esther w of John Sloss a merchant Ann w of Gideon Allen m 20 Jan 1696 Rebecca w of Capt Samuel Sherwood m 30 Nov 1704 d Mary w of Dr James Laborie & the four grandchildren of his dec s Nathaniel His son Col John Burr settled in Pequannock & owned a farm on the turnpike nw of the New York Hartford & New Haven RR inclosing the grand old oak tree which is said to have been the council canopy of the English & Indians in the sale of Indian lands Alas this tree fell in a severe storm in 1884 all its boughs having died long before but each spring until it fell it put forth around its trunk twigs & green leaves

Benjamin Turney had settled in Concord, Massachusetts, by 1639, and was made freeman in June, 1641. He moved (it can be supposed) in September, 1644, with Rev. Mr. Jones, the Wheelers, and others to Fairfield, Connecticut.

His estate was inventoried on June 6, 1648, and presented by Mary Turney on November 10, 1648. The ages of his children were given in his will as: Mary 17, Robert 15, Judith 13, Ann 11, Rebecca 8, Sarah 6, Ruth 4, and Benjamin 3. Receipts were given to Joseph Middlebrook in 1661 by Nathaniel Seeley in behalf of his wife and for use of sister Sarah; John Wheeler in behalf of his wife and for the us of sister Ruth and brother Benjamin Turney and sister Rebecca; and Stephen Sherwood who married the said Rebecca acknowledged receipt of her portion; also Thomas Sherwood receipted to Middlebrook for his wife's portion. John Wheeler by 1673 purchased from Stephen and Matthew Sherwood all their interest in right of their wives, the daughters of Benjamin Turney, deceased.

He settled in Concord, Massachusetts by 1639, and was made freeman, June 1641. He removed, possibly in September 1644 with the Reverend Jones, the Wheelers, and others, to Fairfield. Here he died in 1648. It may be assumed be assumed that he or his wife was closely related to Ann wife of Thomas Wheeler Sr, for in her will of 1659, which was witnessed by Robert Turney, Mrs Wheeler gave her best hat to Rebecca Turney.

Jehu, a carpenter, came to Massachusetts Bay in 1630 on a ship in Winthrop's fleet. Before some five generations in England, the Burr's had origins in Ireland. In America, Jehu and his family moved from Roxbury inland to Agawam (later Springfield) and then to Unuowa (later Fairfield) in Connecticut.

Jehu Burr was born around 1600 in England. He emigrated in 1630 in the Winthrop Fleet. On his arrival in America he settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts where he was made a freeman on 18 May 1631. In 1633 he served on a committee with William Pynchon, the Colony Treasurer. In 1636 he went with Pynchon to Springfield. He was appointed Collector for the Connecticut Colony. He was Deputy for Springfield to the Connecticut Legislature in April 1638 and September 1641. Soon after 1641 he removed to Fairfield. He was a Deputy to the Connecticut Legislature for Fairfield in September 1645 and April 1646. He was a carpenter.

Jehu married Miss Cable and they had six children. All of these children married and had families. Among the descendants one finds many individuals who were leaders in military, political, and human affairs. Their monuments can be found in the Old Burying Ground of Fairfield and other cemeteries in surrounding towns.

Thomas Wheeler sr according to the Wheeler journal had joined the plantation in 1640 and was as has already been stated the first settler at Black Rock f Ephraim Wheeler Thomas Wheeler sr Thomas Wheeler jr William Odell John Evarts Joseph Middlebrook James Bennet Peter Johnson and Benjamin Turney afterwards settled at Pequonnock There is ground for believing that some of this company first settled at Black rock and very soon after went to Pequonnock The others remained at Fairfield Several joined the settlement this year from other towns among whom were William Hill sr his son William Hill jr Richard Westcoat John Green Charles Taintor Samuel Gregory James Beers´bª Jehu and John Burr with their kinsman John Cable´/bª Besides these there are others of which mention will be made hereafter The Rev John Jones was granted about seven acres of land in the rear of the Meetinghouse green six acres of which was afterwards called his orchard His dwelling house which probably had been built before his coming stood back of Edward's pond with mere stones between it and the green running from the north west corner of his land´bª straight to Jehu Burr's home lot´/bª Thomas and Daniel Bulkley were granted home lots in the Newton square on the north east side of the green adjoining the parsonage land
