Each was asked if he/she knew Sarah Rector. Those that knew her stated that she died in Oct or Fall of 1846, 1847, or 1848. Since this case was heard thirty years after her death, many people could not remember the precise year. However, all of them agreed that Sarah died at the home of Richard Preston Brooks one year before David M. Rector left to go to the Mexican War. David left for war October 7, 1847. Therefore, Sarah must have died in October of 1846.
