Transcription : THOMAS MILLER DEAD Haynes Merchant-Farmer Dies After Two Weeks' Illness From Erysipelas Thomas Miller, the well-known farmer and merchant of Haynes township, died early Sunday morning at his home after an illness of two weeks from erysipelas. His illness early assumed a serious aspect and several physicians were in attendance. Hopes for his recovery were entertained until Saturday when the disease took a decided turn for the worse and the end came at 5:30 a. m. Sunday. Mr. Miller was born near Toronto, Ontario, in February, 1854 and had been a resident of Alcona county 32 years. He was married, the first time to Margaret Graham of Port Huron. Three children were born of this union, one of whom, James Miller of Harrisville, survives. On Dec. 6, 1887, he married Rebecca Thorner, who with two children survives. The children are Thomas of Haynes and Mrs. Wm. Beever of Harrisville. There are also five brothers and two sisters: Joseph of Harrisville, Henry of Port Huron, William of Black River, John and Edw. of Alpena, Mrs. F. J. Card and Mrs. Charles Clark of Haynes. Mr. Miller was a prominent citizen of his township and will be greatly missed from the community. The funeral was held Tuesday by the Rev. C. M. Boyce, the interment being in Mt. Joy cemetery.
