Mrs. William Van Alstine died at 2 o'clock on the morning of the 13th. She leaves a family of seven children, the eldest girl of fifteen summers, the youngest a babe a few weeks old. Her remains were followed to the cemetery by numerous relatives and a large concourse of sympathizing friends on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Mr. Long preached the funeral sermon. This is one of the saddest cases which has ever happened in Haynes. Her husband was killed on the 24th day of October, 1892, while oiling a threshing machine. A few days after her babe was born she got up to attend to it as the rest of the family was asleep. She caught cold and had a relapse. Dr McCormick was called to attend her. He had no hopes of her recovery as she became violently insane and as her vitality was very low she soon became of victim to the fatal disease
