MILLIGAN COUNTY PIONEER PASSES AWAY Mrs. Mary Milligan, a long time resident of Lincoln, and widow of the late Ellison Milligan, died at her home at 10:45 o’clock, Wednesday night, November 20. She was 91 years of age, and death followed a 3 months illness, of complications due to the infirmities of age. Mrs. Milligan was born September 18, 1855 in St. Clair County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John London. She came to Lincoln 83 years ago and had made her home here since that time. Her marriage to Ellison Milligan took place in Harrisville in 1879. Mr. Milligan died in 1938. She was a faithful member of the Lincoln Baptist Church. Surviving are ninety-three direct descendents. Ten children, six sons and four daughters: Charles, James, Leslie and Sidney of Lincoln; John and William of Alberta, Canada; Mrs. John Dewar, Mrs. Jos. Thorner of Lincoln; Mrs. M. B. McBean of Manitoba, Canada, and Mrs. Russell Barton of Alberta, Canada, and 39 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. W. S. Milligan of Onaway, Michigan, also survives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, at 2:00 o’clock P.M. from the Baptist Church in Lincoln, with burial in the family plot in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Haynes.
