I hope it wasn't as bad where you are as it is here - or was during the day. It is nice now. But it was 104 this noon! Always gets cool in the eve tho, so it isn't so bad. Wish I could send you a bouquet of my "glads" - they are so beautiful - and I have so many this year. We picked our first crate of young berries yesterday. Sold them for $1.75. Expect to have 2 crates to-morrow. We pick these early in the morning before breakfast. Am hoping to hear from you soon. There was no mail to-day, of course. Remember May 30 where you & Aunt Martha came to Duluth? The leaves weren't even out! As far as we know now we will be seeing you in August. Weren't we so fortunate to get the offer of a free ride each way. It is more than we could reasonably expect. Hope there will be some word to-morrow. Take it easy - you don't get over an operation like that in a day, you know. Lovingly, Leila
