Transcription : I hereby announce my candidacy for the nomination as County Clerk on the Republican Ticket. If the voters should favor me by placing me in that office, I shall give the office my entire attention and will discharge its duties with care and to the best of my ability. In making the run my campaign will be absolutely free from any criticisms of those who may oppose me, and I shall stand on my own merits entirely, and trust the votery to select the best man.
