Transcription : COUNTY MATTERS. BLACK RIVER BRIEFLETS. Following are the names of those elected to fill the various town offices: Supervisor, James Fleming; Township Clerk, D. J. McArthur; Township Treasurer, John Millen; Highway Commissioner, F. J. Card; School Inspector, J. L. Shaw; Justice of the Peace, A. B. McKinzie; Justice of the Peace, to fill vacancy, Geo. Lee; Constables, James Martin, P. N. Morgan, Lewis Miller. Some of those who were present at the hall in Alcona where the voting was done last Monday, say that the conduct of some of the men was most disgraceful. Drunken men were the rule rather than the exception. Bottles of whiskey were brought into the building and drank there. The most profane, obscene and blasphemous language was used. It is time some effort was made in behalf of law and order. The law compelling saloons to close during the time of polling should be strictly enforced.
