Notes |
- Hendrick was the chief of police/alderman for Brielle 1625-1630 and also s erved as mayor of Brielle (3rd mayor from the Beuijs family). He had a Co at of Arms under the name of "Hendrick B'uijs," which in 1629 was allow ed by the estates of Holland to include the color of silver, a color reser ved for the lower nobility (gold for Barons & Dukes; purple for Kings). T he Coat of Arms included a "buis," a small fishing/sail boat, commonly us ed for netting herring, against a silver sky, probably indicating the fami ly owned boats and/or ships. His home was known as "the house with the wan ing moon(s)" and was located on Nobelstraat (street).
