  ". . . Before Mr. Garlick, was John Nelson Pease, who inherited from his f ather, Alanson. His wife was a daughter of Stephen Boyce, and he long sin ce went to Wisconsin. He was a member of the Methodist church. Alanson Pea se was probably the first holder and the builder of the house. His wife w as Nancy, a daughter of the first Robert Jeffers. They had children-John N .; Martha, the wife of William Stewart, and Permillia, who married an Ethr idge, in Wisconsin. Mr. Pease was known as "Old Honesty," and dying, was b uried in the Jeffers ground, further west. His widow accompanied her s on to the far west. . . . in an old deed, dated January 20, 1850, I fi nd that John N. Pease sold to Eron N.
