- Franklin's wife was Mary Fitch, known by (Little Mary Fitch). Her mother was Mary Fitch who had Little Mary out of wedlock in 1862, then Big Mary as they were called, married Daniel Byce the brother of Franklin Byce. Daniel raised Little Mary as his own. The Fitch's were neighbors of the Byce's in St. Clair County. Then in 1877 Franklin married Little Mary in Tawas, Mi. So Franklin,my great grandfather, married the step daughter of his brother Daniel, Little Mary Fitch my great grandmother. Hope this helps, Olive Streeter
