I am related to Joseph Flewelling who was the son of Abel Flewelling son of Nehemiah Flewelling. I am related several generations back through another son of Nehemiah-- Isaac Flewelling. All were residents of the Fort Gratiot area circa 1863 and onwards.I think your Titus Doan lived just a house or farm away from the Flewellings in the 1900 census. Sorry I can't help you in your specific request but would be interested in sharing info about Cora Doan and Joseph Flewelling's four daughters. Flewelling, 61, of Gardendale, widow of Joseph Flewelling, Spanish war veteran, died Thursday in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness. She was born in St. Thomas, Ont., Aug. 16, 1879. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Doan, Gardendale; three daughters, Mrs. Seth Allison, Port Huron; Mrs. Orville J. Parrish, Gardendale, and Mrs. Manley Clink, Detroit; and 16 grandchildren. The remains are in the Arthur E. Smith funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. J.A. Kelley, pastor of Free Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
