- Came on Mayflower with parents Edward and Ann. His parents died soon after they came ashore and he lived with his uncle Samuel, first physician in country. From Plymouth he moved to Scituate where he married Jane Lothrop.
He built in 1636 the fifteenth house in Scituate on Greenfield, the first lot abuting on Kent St. He had 21 acres on the east of Bellhouse Neck. Deane says he was a "man of Kent" [county Engl].
His brother Capt Matthew came over in 1640, and was the earliest regular physician in Barnstable
