John, son of Peter and Rachel, was brought to Medfield when a boy. He is first mettioned on town books as appointed to office of ?hog-reave? in 1686. This office was often given as a joke to the newly married man in town, and serves as his first identification as he was married in 1685. From then on his is always recorded as ?John son of Peter Adams? to distinguish him from his two cousins. His occupation was never mentioned. Some files have a first or second wife of Dorcas Watson. Dorcas was third wife of a John Adams of Ipswich, married 1677
