- Rev Aaron Burr S of Daniel of Upper Meadow b at Greenfield 4 Jan 1716 & bapt in FC 4 March following graduated at Yale College 1735 & entered into full Communion with the GHCC Aug 3 the same year He studied for the ministry was a man of distinguished ability & was first settled in Newark NJ where he taught a flourishing school until called to be the President of Princeton College lie d Sept 24 1757 aged 42 Upon settling at Newark he sold the homestead at Upper Meadow to two cousins each named Joseph Bradley 3 April 1738 one of whom was the great grand father of Justice Joseph P Bradley of the US Supreme Court He m Esther d of Rev Jonathan Edwards of New Haven by whom he had two children
Sarah & Aaron Sarah m the Honorable Tappan Reeves of Litchfield & had but one chid named Aaron Burr Reeves who d says Hinman at Troy NY & left no issue now living The son Col Aaron Burr became the distinguished politician & a leading spirit in the political changes of the country in 1800 at which time he waschosen the third Vice President of the United States He m Mrs Provost the wid of a British officer 2 July 1782 and had one only child named Theodosia b in 1783 a beautiful and accomplished daughter who married the Hon Joseph Alston of SC On her way from the South to visit her father in 1812 she was drowned at sea by many believed to have been murdered by pirates a fate her father was never willing to credit
