  Pierre was captured by the Iroquois Indians in 1689 after his parents were killed. He and one sister who escaped and returned to Lachine in 1701. Marie-Madeleine and her brother Pierre were probably freed in the months preceding the peace treaty signed in Montreal in 1701.
