Obit: Alcona County Review (14 Mar 1918)
MRS. JANE BARBER Mrs. Jane Barber died Tuesday morning at the home of her son, Wm. R. Barber, in Harrisville, following a long illness. She was born April 9, 1850, in Canada and was married to David Barber in 1873. Thirty-six years ago they came to Alcona County and for many years lived in Haynes township. Mrs. Barber went to Independence, Mo., last December to live with her daughter, but her health became so bad that she returned to Harrisville a short time ago to live with her son. Four children survive: Eustache of Duluth, Minn.; Jamima of Independence, Mo.; William R. of Harrisville, and Mrs. Wm. Slater of Haynes. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the W. R. Barber home, Rev. F. A. Andrews in charge, and interment was made in the family lot in Mt. Joy cemetery, Haynes.
