(Papa) Jim was born to James and Hattie (Church) Edgar while they were residing in Ann Arbor, MI. He lived in Wells, MI during his early years, and later moved to Woodside, MI. While living in Woodside, Joe and Lorna Clenford assisted him as foster parents. Jim attended local schools. James was employed as a welder in Detroit, Hancock, and Milwaukee. Upon retirement, he moved to Lake
Linden with his wife Dorothy. As a soldier in the U.S. Army, he served his country during WW II, and
participated in the Normandy Invasion. Jim was a member of the Williams- Giroux Post 90 American Legion of Lake Linden and the Lake Linden United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a man of artistic talents. His home projects attest to his natural abilities. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Edgar of Lake Linden; four sons, James (Katherine) of Glendale Heights, IL, Gary of
Port Hueneme, CA, Glen(Mary) of Lancaster, OH, and David of Dollar Bay. He has 11 grandchildren
11 great-grandchildren, two sisters Mildred Nuoffer of Denedin, FL and Elaine Colthrop of Kalamazoo, MI.
In addition to his parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded Jim in death.
