Zarnikow, Ruby RisserRuby R. Zarnikow was born June 12, 1924 the daughter of the late Abbot and Bertha (Brown) Risser in Taylor county, IA, Jackson Township. She passed from this life on Friday, March 30, 2007 at University Hospitals in Iowa City, IA, having reached the age of 82 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Funeral services for Ruby R. Zarnikow, 82, Wilton, were held Monday, April 2, 2007 at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton, with the Pastor Rodney Underwood officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale cemetery. Mrs. Zarnikow died March 30 at University hospital in Iowa City. The daughter of Abbot and Bertha Brown Risser, she was born June 12, 1924. She was raised on a farm in Taylor county and attended a one room school near Bedford. She graduated from Bedford high school in 1941. She married Werner E. Zarnikow of Buffalo, N.Y. on Dec. 20, 1947 in Ames, while they were students at Iowa State University. During World War II she worked in Washington, D.C. and Detroit, Mich. for the FBI. The couple raised their family in West Des Moines and also lived in Tennessee, California and Arizona, before moving to Wilton. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Durant. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, sewing and quilting. In earlier years she was a 4-H leader and taught quilting. Mrs. Zarnikow is survived by 5 children
