died_____? Norma was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and died September 14,
1990 in Lees Summitt, Missouri at John Knox Village Care Center. Norma is
buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.
I RECEIVED THIS INFORMATION FROM MIRIAM "MIRRIE" LINDA
ATKINS CORGAN, MY MOTHER'S TWIN SISTER. / JULY 1995
Aunt Norma graduated from North Eastern State Teachers College,
Oklahoma. She was a outgoing, happy, talkitive, joker, intelligent book
reader. EXCELLANT EXCELLANT COOK ! ( into reading psychology and
sociology books before it became popular reading for lay people. Probably
a definite influence on daughter Maurine who got a PhD in Psychology).
Husband was a lawyer, German / His father was also a licensed lawyer that
practiced all his life in Independence, Missouri. Aunt Norma and Uncle
Elmer were real opposites in personality. He was a kind gentle person ,
quiet but really enjoyed the fact that Norma entertained. They were
always were in groups that got together all the years while raising their
children. Even to taking some vacations togeather. | McMillan, Norma (I1919)

Note: Bill retired from the Michigan Highway Department after 25 years. He started there when he was 17, and as he was still young, he went to live in Alaska and was there until the Alcan Highway was completed. When the huge earthquake struck, the house next door to his disappeared, but his stood fast. He later went to Indonesia, and when his wife died he returned to Prescott, AZ. He eventually gave his house to his two sons and returned to Indonesia where he married his secretary and had another child.

Note: Mary Toothaker was examined by John Hawthorne on 30 July 1692. She said that she feared the Indians so much that she had made a pact with the Devil to protect her. Of course knowing how the Witchcraft Trials were conducted, the confession was either fabricated or coerced, though she probably did greatly fear the Indians. The area had been attacked by the Indians numerous times in the preceding few years. She and her daughter Margaret stayed in prison. Two days after the examination the Indians attacked Billerica, burning the vacant Toothaker house .
At the end of January 1693 the were freed and went back home to the burned out house. Mary Toothaker went on helping sick people. Martha Carrier was condemned and hanged as a witch, on the testimonies of many people, including Roger Toothaker's son Allen. This family again suffered in the Indian MAacre of Billerica of 5 August 1695. Mary Allin Toothaker was killed, and daughter Margaret was captured by the Indians, never to be seen again. | Allen, Mary (I22328)

Nothing has been learned of his marriage and death.
The name of Samuel Hazen is the first of the family to have been found in New Jersey records. In an old volume at Newton appears this record: "At a court of General Sessions of the Peace held at Hardwick, County ofSussex, on the Third Tuesday in February in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and fifty five and in the Twenty eighth year of his Majesty's Reign--The King vs. Charles McConnell--Indictment for misdemeanor. The attorney general opened the cause--and the following Evidences pro Rege--Mary Robins, Jane Robins, Joshua Robins, Saml. Hazen, Thomas Wolverton."Soon after this date, the names of Thomas and Daniel Hazen appear in the same book of court records, and in 1778 the name of Nathaniel Hazen [son of John]. The corroborates the general tradition among their descendants that three or four brothers came from CT to New Jersey at about the same time. The only known child of Samuel is his son Samuel.[HazenGary.FTW] | Hazen, Samuel (I22496)
